Itinerary :

Follow our expertly trained licensed tour guides in a reveal of the antiquity. Little by little you will discover the top of the Acropolis Hill. Starting at the meeting point McDonalds near the Acropolis Metro Station (Areopagitou 7 & Makri 1, corner) you will soon enter the archaeological site and start the ascending way to the top of the hill as the sun slowly rises in the city. On the way up you will first come across the sanctuary and one of the very first theatres in the world, the theatre dedicated to Dionysos, the god of festivals, vines and theatre. Next up you will admire the remains of the sanctuary of Asclepius and Hygeia, the ancient hospital of Athens. You will stumble upon the Odeon of Herodes the Atticus, that still functions to this day and then you will find yourselves upon the Propylaea, the monumental gate leading to the top of the hill. The ruins of the three temples on top of the hill, the Temple of Athena Nike, the Erechtheum and of course the Parthenon will slowly start taking shape before your eyes!
You will then have a walk to the closely located New Acropolis Museum. On the way you are going to admire the neoclassical architecture of some of the most high-end residences in Athens. On the ground floor of the museum your guide will get you acquainted with the customs and traditions of the ancient Greeks up until the middle ages. On the first floor you will focus on sculpting and the masterpieces that would decorate the top of the hill for several centuries, including the -always stunning- Caryatids. On the second floor the guide will take you in a journey through all the original marbles that adorned the Parthenon while having a stunning view of the monument itself!
By the time you are all done with the museum, you will be in need of the vibrant sun of Athens once again. Our guide will escort you for a walk through the picturesque old town of Athens, named Plaka gradually revealing all its secrets. Even if you don’t get to visit the Aegean islands, you can always brag about leisurely strolling through the alleys of Anafiotika, a neighborhood built all white and blue reminiscent of the Aegean architecture!
