The Acropolis is the iconic rocky hill that dominated the skyline of Athens. Recognised as one of the world’s most important archaeological sites, it preserves the remains of monuments spanning from prehistoric times to the modern era, with the Parthenon as its crown jewel.

Opening hours vary between summer and winter:
Winter: 08:00 – 17:00
Summer: 8:00- 19:30
16th to 30th September: 08:00 – 19:00
1st to 15th October: 08:00 – 18:30

New Acropolis Museum

The new Acropolis Museum is open daily, with hours depending on the season:
From 1 November to 31 March:
Monday – Thursday: 9 am – 5 pm
Friday: 9 am – 10 pm
Saturday and Sunday: 9 am – 8 pm

From 1 April to 31 October:
Monday: 9 am – 5 pm
Tuesday – Sunday: 9 am – 8 pm
Friday: 9 am – 10 pm

Entrance fees vary depending on the site you visit:

  • Acropolis Hill: €30 per adult
  • Other archaeoogical sites and museums: typically €20 per adult

These prices apply to adult visitors. Reduced admission is generally applied to minors upon presentation of valid passport or ID.

The tickets to both archaeological sites (the Acropolis Hill archaeological site and the Acropolis museum) are valid for ONE ENTRY ONLY. You will not need a ticket to the area of Anafiotika.

All group tours are conducted in ENGLISH. Private tours can also be conducted in French or Spanish upon request.

To make the most of your visit, we recommend bringing:

  • A bottle of water, sunglasses and a hat (esp. during the warm months, from Apric to October)
  • A raincoat/umbrella if the weather forecast suggests rain
  • Comfortable, enclosed shoes with good support as the paths of the Acropolis Hill can feel like a light hiking experience

 

For safety reasons it is NOT allowed and/or advised to bring inside any the following items:
– Any food or beverage except for water
– Any sharp items, such as knives or bottle openers
– Any large backpacks will be handed to the cloakroom in the Acropolis museum
– No pets are allowed, except for guide dogs

No food or drink is provided by the company.
In case it rains the company will not provide an umbrella.
